Programme Highlights:
Smart water metering systems have been a prominent topic in the utility sector for over a decade, with many water utilities worldwide adopting various strategies and technologies to implement them. The Water Supplies Department (WSD) in Hong Kong began rolling out Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) in 2018. This initiative aims to enhance meter reading efficiency, deliver more granular and timely water consumption data to customers, optimize the operation of the water supply network, and promote water conservation.
In this seminar, the development journey of AMI implementation in Hong Kong will be explored. Key aspects to be covered include the overall strategy, detailed implementation plan, and the current status of the project.
