Programme Highlights
MTR has commissioned many new rails these years. To allow a new rail line to operate safely and open for public, different kinds of electrical and mechanical systems for making sure safety in rail tunnels are necessary to construct, test and commission. Tunnel ventilation system for rail tunnel is one of those which is unique for rail tunnel environment to allow safe evacuation of passengers from train as well as necessary heat dissipation for heat generated by trains in the tunnel. This session of sharing will provide some information and highlights of how a tunnel ventilation system for rail tunnel shall be tested and commissioned.

Speakers
Mr Louis Lau is the Construction Manager of Shatin Central Link. He has been working for MTR for over 18 years. He has been working on E&M design and construction for various rail lines such as Airport Railway, Tseung Kwan O Line, South Island Line, Kwun Tong Line Extension and Shatin Central Link.
