Programme Highlight:
To better connect young engineers in the building services industry, the Building Services Division is organising a series of events that will provide opportunities for young engineers to expand their horizon and to experience something special together.

To kick off we will have the fencing demo class. Originated from sword fighting, fencing actually means “the action or art of using the sword scientifically”. While the history of sword fighting can be dated back to the Bronze Age, fencing was only developed into a sport in the 18th century.  In Hong Kong, although fencing has been very popular after the Tokyo Olympic, it has never been a common sport locally.

In the demo class you will be introduced the basic knowledge, manner and technique in fencing. You will experience the special tension and magic feeling on the piste. You will also be able to feel the pressure under the mask and the excitement during a competition.

Coach:
Mr. Jeffrey Chang

Mr. Chang is an experienced foil fencer. He has been a member of the HK Team and have received numerous awards in his careers. He has started coaching since 2008 and has groomed generations of elite fencers for Hong Kong. He started his Fencing Club “Co-Fencing Space” in 2018 and has soon grown into one of the most popular in Hong Kong.
