Joint Technical Seminar on The Introduction of Compliance Assessment (CA) in BEAM Plus New Buildings Version 2.0

Programme Highlight:
In response to the latest development on Buildings Department’s (BD) consultancy study on “Review of the Mechanism for encouraging a Quality Built Environment through GFA Concession”, BEAM Society Limited (BSL) has implemented changes in the assessment procedures to cater for the new GFA concession mechanism to be put into practice in the near future. Compliance Assessment (CA) is introduced with the aim to facilitate the industry to offer BD assurance on the projects’ green building performance at the Occupation Permit (OP) stage. It advances an optional interim assessment for projects undertaking BEAM Plus New Buildings Version 2.0 (NB v2.0) before the issuance of OP. Representative from Electrical and Mechanical Services Department would also share the Energy Efficiency Registration Scheme for Buildings to encourage adoption of energy efficient building services installations.

CS is currently the General Manager of BSL, the Chairman of Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency, a Barrister-at-law at the High Court of Hong Kong, and an Adjunct Associate Professor of the University of Hong Kong, teaching engineering and legal subjects at both the graduate and post-graduate levels. Before joining the legal profession, CS had been working with Hong Kong Housing Authority as the Chief Building Services Engineer, heading the Building Services Section responsible for the design and construction of BS installations of all the new public housing development projects. He has been devoted to promoting green building and BEAM Plus which aims at improving the overall quality of the built environment in Hong Kong.

Only accepted register participants will receive an electronic CPD certificate: i.e. sharing of the register link to others are prohibited and HKIE BSD reserves the right to disqualify and terminate those non-properly registered participants to attend the Seminar.

The maximum number of participants to be 500. Those successful participants are requested to attend the Seminar by their own. Application will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. Successful members will be informed by confirmation email with a zoom meeting link few days before the event. Transfer or sharing of the registration is prohibited.
